Morning at Exile Bay

There is something good about our early morning walks with Alistair along the footpath along Exile Bay. The sun, the water and the clear skies make this a wonderful time and experience. Sun just comming up

Here is the sun arriving over Abbotsford with smooth water, the boats bobbing and the somewhere out there a rowing boat training and coach hurrying them on.

Later the sun lights up the sky and the ridges; colouring the water.

Walking back

On the way home to a well deserved coffee and dried dog food. The Bushell’s factory is in the background – last of the industries along the waterfront in Concord.

I think we are lucky or blessed to be able to do this walk every day.

Don’t leave Poo

We have this problem on our walks around Exile Bay, some dog owners seem reluctant, embarrassed or squeamish about picking up their dog’s poo. I found some signs in Kagoshima that this problem might not be confined to Concord.

Or as on a more happy note

If only Canada Bay Council would be as cute with any notices it might put up, although I doubt whether simple notices would help it requires a sense of community.

Waiting for the Flood that didn't come

Every so often working as a consultant has its
interesting moments. On January 12 Jane heard
on the radio that the largest tide for the year was happening at 9:30am. Well we grabbed Alistair and our cameras and headed down to Bayview Park, Sydney to see the fun.

Well as you can see, it wasn't exactly a Tsunami or of Biblical proportions.

In fact we, that is the people who also rushed down to see the flood, all thought the tide had been much higher a few we
eks ago where the water reached the path the bloke in the photo is standing on. But not on this day.

Apparently the tide did r
each the high level but in the absence of flooding and with the harbour being calm this is what we got. It was a good indication of what might be expected from the "Greenhouse effect" which made me think "is that all". I'm sure it isn't as simple as just a high tide.

Still the local mangroves got a good soaking and appeared suitably flooded and mysterious.
